KRINKO stands for Commission for Hospital Hygiene and Infection Prevention at the German Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
KRINKO develops guidelines for hospital hygiene and infection prevention, which are published by the RKI. These hygiene guidelines serve as the authoritative basis and standard for necessary preventive measures. The national recommendations are aimed at all health care facilities, such as clinics, elderly-care homes, doctors’ practices, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, or facilities for outpatient surgery.
