Evidence

Evidence (lat. Evidentia, evidence) has a different meaning in the medical context than in general language use. “Evidence-based medicine” refers to the conscientious, explicit and rational use of the best currently-available external scientific information when taking decisions in the medical care of individual patients. This information comes from scientific studies and systematically collected clinical experiences that substantiate or disprove a fact.
