According to ECHA, the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012) regulates the market introduction and use of biocidal products that are used to protect humans, animals, materials or products from harmful organisms such as pests or bacteria through activity of the active substances they contain. On the one hand, the regulation aims to improve the functioning of the biocidal products market in the EU. At the same time, it aims to protect human health and the environment.
