EN 16615, 4-field test

Test method for determining the bactericidal and levurocidal (C. albicans) efficacy  of surface disinfectants under practical conditions for use “with mechanical action” (scrub/wipe disinfection) in human medicine. In this test, a pre-soaked wipe is moved over four marked fields on a surface with the help of a granite block, hence “4-field test“. The test procedure is obligatory for the VAH certification of “ready-to-use wipe systems”. In future, this so-called Phase 2/Stage 2 test is also to be established for determining additional antimicrobial activities.
