bactericidal / bactericidal activity

Active against bacteria. In the medical sector, as per the current EN 14885, bactericidal properties of hand and surface disinfectants  are determined by means of the following European norms:

Hand disinfection:

EFFICACY CLAIM PHASE 2/STEP1
(SUSPENSION TESTS)
PHASE 2/STEP 2
(PRACTICAL TESTS)
BACTERICIDAL EN 13727
Test organisms:
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae,
Escherichia coli
EN 1500
(hygienic hand disinfection)
Test organisms:
Escherichia coli

EN 12791
(surgical hand disinfection)
Test organisms:
Resident flora on the hand

Surface disinfection:

EFFICACY CLAIM PHASE 2/STEP1
(SUSPENSION TESTS)
PHASE 2/STEP 2
(PRACTICAL TESTS)
BACTERICIDAL EN 13727
Test organisms:
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae
EN 16615
(surface, with mechanical action)
Test organisms:
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae

EN 13697*
(surface, industry, without mechanical action)
Test organisms:
Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae
